Last night was the home opener for the New England Mutiny at Lusitano Stadium as they played the Long Island Rough Riders. It took the Mutiny just 16 minutes to score their first ever goal at Lusitano Stadium and from then on, the goals kept coming. Just six minutes later, the captain, Kate Howarth slides a goal home and doubles the Mutiny’s lead. As halftime comes around, the score of the match is an exciting 3-1 in favor of the Mutiny. In the 69th minute, Kate Howarth scores her third goal, completing the hat-trick and bringing the lead to 4-1. The Rough Riders don’t go away quietly and get one back four minutes after. The match ends as a 4-2 victory for the Mutiny as the whole squad shines in the home debut. The Mutiny’s next match will be home on June 1stat 7:00 PM against the Connecticut Fusion. The Mutiny move to a solid 2-0 record and have an outstanding goal differential of +5.

    The New England Mutiny defeated New Jersey Copa 1-0 Wednesday night at St. John Vianney high school. The victory gave the Mutiny 21 regular season wins – the most in the history of United Women’s Soccer. The 20-year-old franchise is a founding member of UWS, which was created in 2016.     The New England Mutiny defeated the Worcester Smiles by a 5-0 final at Lusitano Stadium on Saturday night. Mutiny forward Kate Howarth scored the game-winner in the 26’ off a header on a corner kick from Monson’s Brooke Murphy. Howarth’s goal would be the only tally for the better part of 60 minutes as the home side struggled to find much rhythm and found it difficult to break down Worcester’s disciplined defensive unit.
