#8 TIFFANY WEIMER

Tiffany Weimer Position(s): Forward
Hometown: N. Haven, CT
College / Club: Penn State Univ. / Fortuna Hjorring

Fortuna Hjorring forward Tiffany Weimer signed with the Mutiny for the remainder of the 2012 season. The former Women's Professional Soccer (WPS) draft pick recently concluded her season with Fortuna of Denmark's top-flight Elitedivisionen, where the team finished second and qualified for the Champion's League via a 3-0 win over league champion Brondby. Weimer's skill and attacking ability is a known quantity for Mutiny fans, as she played against her new team for SoccerPlus CT of the Women's Premier Soccer League (WPSL) in the 2007 season.

"We are ecstatic to have Tiffany join us for the remainder of the season," said New England Mutiny owner Joe Ferrara. "She is here and ready to go. Unfortunately, we need to play a little waiting game as she needs clearance by the U.S. Soccer Federation before playing in a sanctioned league match."

"I'm looking forward to joining the Mutiny for the rest of the season and working with the coaches and players who have already put in a lot the last two months," said Weimer. "I'm also excited to play for a team that has a long-standing history in WPSL while playing with and against some of the top players in the country."

In 2011 with the Vancouver Whitecaps, Weimer scored seven goals & four assists in 14 games and will reunite with two of her Whitecaps teammates in Mutiny colors - midfielder Kelsey Hood and defender Ciara McCormack. In 2010, Tiffany made eight appearances for the Boston Breakers of WPS before joining AIK of Sweden's top-flight Damallsvenskan for the second half of the season, where she scored four goals.

In 2009, Weimer played for F.C. Gold Pride of WPS, where she was a Third Round selection (17th overall) in the league's inaugural draft. In her debut appearance for the northern California-based club, Tiffany assisted on the first goal in club history. She made 15 appearances that season, recording one goal and a team-high three assists.

In her four years at Penn State University, Weimer tallied 91 goals - the most in Big Ten Conference history - and was a two-time MAC Hermann Trophy runner-up (awarded to the best college soccer player). The three-time National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-American led Penn State to two NCAA College Cup appearances.

The North Haven, CT-native earned six caps for the U.S. U-21 Women's National Team, including appearing for the 2006 Nordic Cup Semifinalists. Off the pitch, Weimer is the Editor-In-Chief of Our Game Magazine, where McCormack is also a contributor.
