#27 JENNY MAURER

Jenny Maurer returns to the Mutiny for a franchise-record eighth season. She is the only Mutiny player to don the colors for each season of New England’s renaissance in the Women’s Premier Soccer League (WPSL) - where the organization is the sole charter member of the East Conference.

Last season, she was once again honored by the WPSL, being named to the All-WPSL Second Team. In Summer 2008, Maurer was second on the Mutiny in scoring, notching 8 goals and 6 assists in only 10 regular season games. On top of that, she was named to the All-WPSL First Team for her efforts.

Maurer missed two matches in 2008 as she spent two weeks training with the U-23 U.S. Women’s National Team. Always one of the more popular players on the roster, Maurer will be counted on to provide her customary veteran leadership. In the off-season, she has been an assistant coach for her alma mater Boston College of the Atlantic Coast Conference.

Jenny joined the Mutiny late in 2007 and made an immediate impact, as she has every season since being a high school senior. Maurer was a four-year starter for the Boston College Eagles and was captain of the team her senior year. Controlling the midfield at B.C., she helped the team receive its highest national ranking ever after the 2006 season (No. 10).

Jenny has always continued her steady rise into the national limelight, as after her 2005 WPSL First Team selection, she was invited to train with the U.S. U-21 Women’s National Team. That fall for the 13-6-2 nationally-ranked Boston College Eagles, Maurer started all 21 matches and led the team in scoring with two goals and six assists.

In 2004, Jenny was named to the NSCAA All-Region Second Team, after tallying 15 points on four goals and seven assists. Maurer accumulated numerous accolades, including being named to the All-Big East Second Team & the Academic All-District I Team.

Maurer started in every match in 2004 for the Mutiny, after achieving both levels for New England during Summer 2003: playing in five matches for the senior team (including the National Semifinal in San Francisco, CA); while leading the U-17 team to the Div. I National Championship (held in Indianapolis, IN). Jenny had a solid freshman season at B.C. in 2003, scoring three goals & four assists for the Big East Conference Finalists.

Maurer was a four-year letterwinner at East Longmeadow H.S. & was an NSCAA/adidas National All-America honoree her senior year. She was named Massachusetts Gatorade Player of the Year & was also selected to compete in the McDonald’s All-American game.
