#12 MEGHAN CUNNINGHAM

Meghan Cunningham is entering her fourth season with the New England Mutiny, alongside her college & club teammates Erin Clark & Becky Gundling. Last fall, she started in 19 of the 21 matches she appeared in for the 11-8-2 UConn Huskies, filling a variety of roles. As a sophomore for UConn in 2008, Meghan played in all 22 games (17 starts) in a defensive position.

Cunningham sent the Mutiny to the 2007 WPSL National Championship Final when she converted the deciding penalty kick in Round 7 of the shoootout against host team Tampa. Amazingly, she duplicated that same feat that fall in the 2nd Round of the NCAA Division I Tournament. Meghan scored the deciding penalty kick in the 5-4 win over Boston College, and then went on to score the GWG in the 3rd Round NCAA Tournament match against Stanford.

Cunningham scored 62 goals over her career at Simsbury H.S., while leading her team to a Class LL State Championship in 2005 and was named the Tournament MVP.  She was honored by CGSCA and the Hartford Courant by being selected to the Connecticut Class LL All-State Soccer Team.
