INDIANA 2, NEW ENGLAND MUTINY 3 Kate Howarth's fourth goal of 2012 in second half extra-time gives the visitors the win INDIANAPOLIS, IN (06/14/12) - The New England Mutiny of WPSL Elite faced off against their old nemesis (and friend) Shek Borkowski and his F.C. Indiana squad at Carroll Stadium for the first time since the 2007 season. In the Women's Premier Soccer League National Final that season played at the University of Tampa in Tampa, FL, FCI was victorious over the Mutiny by a 3-0 score.
New England (3-2-1 WPSL Elite) served up a certain measure of redemption on this night, as they defeated F.C. Indiana (0-6-1 WPSL Elite) by a 3-2 score. In a physical contest which saw eight yellow cards, the Mutiny would go up by two goals before FCI tied the match late via a Jordan Clark penalty kick. Forward Kate Howarth would net her second goal of the night in the 90th minute to break the hosts' heart.
The match would literally kick off on a physical note, which was completed with an early yellow card on FCI's forward Yolande |

Merone. In the 32nd minute, New England would make the host team pay for that as defender Sarah Brochu would make a run forward. Her clinical service would find Howarth, who headed the ball home for the 1-0 score. Brochu's assist was her first of the season in her third consecutive start.
The score would remain at 1-0 at halftime. Six minutes into the second half, the Mutiny would go up 2-0 on a Becca Mays goal. Midfielder Kelsey Hood would chip the ball over the FCI defense and the forward would convert for her third tally of the season, good for third on the team in goals scored. FCI would immediately respond with midfielder Wisline Dolce's shot hitting the crossbar in the 52nd minute. They would capitalize on their resurgence four minutes later, as forward Manoucheka Pierre-Louis would fire her shot past New England goalkeeper Vikki Alonzo, off an assist from midfielder Lovely Placid. The first of five yellow cards on the night for the Mutiny would occur in the 62nd minute on midfielder Lauren Reilly. The tempo of the match continued to pick up as New England tried to ride it out for the win. Yet, FCI would tie the match at 2-2 on Clark's penalty kick in the 83rd minute. Howarth and defender Taleen Dimirdjian would be shown yellow cards in the 89th minute for the visitors, but the former would make FCI see red just a minute later in extra-time. The University of Miami Hurricane would run on to a through ball from Mays and notch her fourth tally of 2012, putting her in the team lead for points scored (4g, 3a, 11pts).
